Pre-Requisites
- At-least 15GB of free space.
- Preferably multiple core system.
- At-least 4GB of memory.

Installation
Video Instructions
- Below video targets release 2024R1 of ANSYS, but the procedure should be nearly the same for other releases :
Text instructions
- If you prefer reading the instructions in a text format:
- Navigate to "P:\Office of Research\Research Computing\RC\Ansys\Ansys 2024R1\Windows" and copy the 3 ISO disks "ANSYS2024R1_WINX64_DISK*" to your personal computer
- One after the other, right-click on the 3 ISO Disks and select "Mount"
- At this stage, each Disk shall have an allocated Drive, e.g. : ANSYS2024R1_WINX64_DISK1 => F: ANSYS2024R1_WINX64_DISK2 => G: ANSYS2024R1_WINX64_DISK3 => H:
- Enter the DVD Drive of the Disk1 and locate the setup executable, then, right-click and select "Run as Administrator"
- Ansys Installation window will open
- Select first option "Install Ansys Products"
- Read the license agreement and select "I Agree" on the bottom. Click Next
- Select the installation directory. If you want to use the default directory, just click "Next"
- In next screen it will ask for the License server, type "tamuq-ansys.qatar.tamu.edu" w/o quotes in Hostname field
- 10. On next screens, just click next.
- Go to "Start -> All Programs -> Ansys 2024 R1" and right click on "Workbench 2024 R1" and select "Run as administrator"
11. Installation will begin
12. During Installation, it will ask you for the path to the Second Disk. Provide path to ANSYS2024R1_WINX64_DISK2 associated drive, e.g. F: (refer to step 2)
13. Then it will ask you for the path to the Third Disk. Provide path to ANSYS2024R1_WINX64_DISK3 associated drive, e.g. G: (refer to step 2)
14. Installation will resume, and it can take some time depending upon the speed of your computer.
